A crazy week in Leeds United’s history, even for us!

As another crazy weekend leaves it’s trail of destruction over Elland Road we head into a game tonight that has rapidly become a must win game. After it emerged last week that the club would not be in a position to pay the players it became apparent on Friday morning that the players would be paid a proportion of their wages and then the rest would be paid after the Cellino appeal. Prompting rumours of administration which added extra necessity on the Doncaster and Charlton games, if you looked at the league table after a points deduction, but take away all the circumstances and look the game itself, another absolute shambolic first half display. If the excuse was the distraction of wages being paid then I’m left wondering what the excuses for the rest of this year have been!

Best things to happen this weekend was the work of TNS who got interviews with Ken Bates and Massimo Cellino. Forget Bates, not interested. Let’s just think on the Cellino interview, would he have been happy about being unknowingly recorded? Absolutely not. Was it the best thing that could have happened? Absolutely. Forget his past, and his ongoing appeal the only thing that kept striking me about this interview was, honesty. Finally, someone who has the money to run the club but to tell us how it is, and how we can see things. I’m not going to sit here quoting him, we all know what’s been said and the truth of it is, we have all been seeing this for years. Why though, did it take someone who doesn’t yet own us to open up about the club and be honest? Admittedly he didn’t know he was opening up to us, but you kind of get the impression that he would have. This interview has turned the opinion of many Leeds fans, myself included, that he should have the club and give it a go.

Getting round to our current, sheepish, classless, dangerous and pathetic owners, GFH. Why have they still not come out and said anything at all about the situation regarding wages, the future or the allegation being made against them? The fact that they can sit there, with our money doing absolutely nothing with it and not communicating to us in horrendous. Where’s all the money gone? Their reputation is in tatters but they seem not to care? Is our chairman, Salah Nooruddin even alive? David Haigh, well, he is just coming over as a massive liability who clearly has a case of mythomania and it appears he simply can’t stop lying. Not bad for someone who has supported Leeds all his life? Running us into the ground, cheers Dave. Up there with Ridsdale in my book. Just so many questions need answering and we all know we will get no answers. The only thing I know about Leeds United these days is that these clowns need to go, and they need to go now.

Leeds United meanwhile are still in limbo as we await the outcome of Massimo Cellino’s appeal, he verdict is crucial for how this club will carry on. If he fails, who pays the wages then? As much as I believe Cellino should be given a chance I just can’t see it happening, I hope that I am wrong.

Charlton game tonight, crucial. We need to lift the mood slightly, we need to get a few results to make sure we are definitely not going to be in trouble of getting relegated. And whilst we are talking about Charlton and the aforementioned GFH, category B, for Charlton in midweek! Horrendously planned out here, and consider the weekend game against Doncaster being a category A game, just even more proof they as much about football as they do about public relations! Over to the players now, give us something to smile about, please, just once.
