How will Leeds fair in Milanič’s first home game?

It was a weak display last weekend from Leeds. The new Head Coach Darko Milanic was looking to pick up full points away from home and make a positive start as new Head Coach. This was not the case as Leeds picked up their first loss in 3 matches and it was against a side that had back to back thrashings with Norwich and Middlesbrough.

Prior to the match, new Head Coach Darko Milanic told the press (after observing the squad in one full practice) that he picked a side that he thought would get the job done. The side he picked left Billy Sharp and Adryan off the team sheet for “tactical reasons” and reinstated Luke Murphy to the squad. Strangely, according to Jason Pearce, his main focus in that first practice was to reshape our defending tactics after keeping a clean sheet (let alone with 10 men) against Huddersfield the week before. I can understand that the two CB’s have been suspect at times and there has been some lack of communication evident however, Neil Redfearn seemed to be slowly fixing those issues.

At today’s press conference, Milanic claimed to have asked Cellino for time and patience (which we all know Cellino has a lack of). He also added that there would be changed squad for the match against Reading who are sitting only one point above us in the table.

For me, I feel like Milanic needs to get Academy Coach Neil Redfearn more involved. My only complaint about the managerial issues for our club is that we keep appointing coaches with ZERO Championship experience. The only one we have had so far is Neil Redfearn. Redfearn knew we didn’t possess any wing players and took our current diamond style formation and fielded a squad of players to which we could make the most of our passing and possession strengths. Maybe I’m old fashioned but “if it ain’t broke, then don’t try to fix it!”

Let’s hope he gets it right this time…
