Leeds United transfer rumours latest

|

As always with Leeds, there have been a lot of transfer rumours already with little end product. So far it has been very different to last summer, most of the players linked based in England, whereas it was Serie B or the rest of the world last year. Sadly there hasn’t been any wingers linked so far, but the summer is still young… Here’s who we have been linked to

Bamba

Sol Bamba – I thought when Bamba tore into Cellino in various interviews that would be the last we saw of him but it appears that we’re still interested. Bamba would be a good signing for me because he clearly gets Leeds United and would provide an experienced head.

Lee erwin

Lee Erwin – 21-year-old striker from Motherwell, this has been quite well documented and it is reported that we’re close to completing this deal. At 6ft 2 he would fit in to Rosler’s preferred formation of 433 so at his age and on the cheap, he could be a decent signing. I would still prefer proven quality, though. He scored 5 goals for Motherwell this season, however he only played properly for the last quarter.

Jermine-Beckford@RITGK1

Jermaine Beckford / Luciano Becchio – We have been linked with both of these as we always are, Cellino even watched Beckford twice and spoke to his agent, only to claim that he had no idea who Beckford is. Neither of these have much of a chance of happening but you never know with Cellino, he might use them as a tool to getting fans on side.

Chris Baird

Chris Baird – The 33-year-old Northern Ireland international defender has been linked in recent weeks. He would be available on a free and I think this would be a decent signing considering the experience he has and how he could help the younger players in our team.

Alex Pearce – Pearce has been linked to Leeds for each of the past few seasons and although he’s a decent player, speaking to Reading fans I don’t think he’s anything special. It is reported that he is unwilling to move to Leeds and also that Derby are close to signing him (not sure living in Derby is much better but alright..)

Paul rob

Paul Robinson – The former Leeds keeper would be a fan-pleasing signing, mainly because he can catch and kick the ball to a decent standard. However Cellino has also said that he’s never heard of him (although he claims to love Leeds, odd) so it looks like a non-starter. It is worth remembering that Cellino said we weren’t signing Sharp last year and look what happened.

I am happy with the types of player being linked to us, it’s better than the Serie B types of last year but I would really like to start hearing some wide players being mentioned. Let us know in the comments what you think about these players!
