Leeds United v Nottingham Forest Player Ratings

All in all, a frustrating performance, I’d say we dominated the game but given our next game is Derby, a point wasn’t really enough to get us closer to the playoffs.

Marco Silvestri – 5 – I know the goal was really Bellusci’s fault but what was Silvestri doing? He should have fixed the mess that Bellusci created but instead he just slid past the ball without any attempt to get something on it? Strange.

Scott Wootton – 7 – Had a good game to be fair, his crossing isn’t great but he’s not a right-back so what do you really expect.

Charlie Taylor – 8 – Another great game from Charlie Taylor, especially in the first half, everything came down the left side and he and Dallas link well, he does need to improve his crossing however.

Liam Cooper – 8 – I thought Cooper had a great game without any errors, he made an absolutely massive block at the end that quite a lot of people seem to have missed, the ball could easily have been going in if he didn’t get in the way. Cooper seems to be getting better game after game.
Giuseppe Bellusci – 4 – Alright Steve, you can drop him now. Yeah he had a few good performances but he’s cost us a win last night and it’s not like it’s his only error this season. He’s filled with errors, when he could easily head the ball he tries an acrobatic kick, sometimes it comes off and sometimes things like last night will happen. Bring Bamba back in.

Liam Bridcutt – 9 – Another top class performance, he just does all the simple things so well, he keeps the midfield ticking and breaks up opposing attacks throughout, we need to sign him at least till the end of the season.

Luke Murphy – 7 – He takes some stick but I thought he had a really solid game, our midfield dominated throughout and he was a big part of that, he’s much better when we have five in midfield rather than four.

Lewis Cook – 6 – Not a stellar Lewis Cook performance by any means, he looks tired at the moment and there’s a chance he’ll be rested for the Derby game considering the quick turnaround.

Stuart Dallas – 6 – It wasn’t Dallas’ best game but it wasn’t poor either, he also looks tired and that’s to be expected with the amount of effort he puts in every game.

Sam Byram – 8 – Sam Byram appears to be back ladies and gentlemen and it’s only a few days till January. I really want him to sign a contract but I just can’t see it, we’ll miss him. He scored a great goal yesterday, his finishing is top drawer.

Chris Wood – 6 – Honestly I really don’t have any words for Chris Wood at the minute, he’s just poor. He doesn’t contribute to the team and his finishing is shocking, we need to sign a striker.

Overall, it was a good performance in a game that we dominated but it was 2 points dropped. Derby are next up and with them top of the league it’s going to be difficult, we really need a win to confirm that we can challenge for the playoffs with some signings in January. Come on Leeds.

Absolutely correct, should have won this without a doubt. I feel Woods is now becoming a liability in front of goal, he’s had over 50 opportunites to score and taken only 7 of those, just not good enough. a half decent striker would have taken enough of those chances to have taken us into the top 2.

Bellusci makes one mistake (and not blatant like people say – defenders were all too far forward and he at least tried to make some attempt x 2 to salvage, where were rest of team??) and you give him 4….Chris Wood makes countless mistakes(i.e. regularly missed chances – some almost sitters, coupled with pointless strutting about) and you also call him poor …yet give him 6 !! Wood is awful and the sooner he is out of the side the better. Everyone says he lacks confidence now – so why isn’t he dropped to the bench and given chance to rebuild it with 20 mins at end of games etc? Also, I honestly believe if Evans doesn’t want to play 2 up front then we would be far better playing 4-1-5-0 or 4-6-0. Not joking – because if Wood is up front we might as well be playing with 10 men. I’m sorry but we are going nowhere until Wood is dropped or has a miraculous increase in abilities.
