Who should start for Leeds against Norwich?

|

After the disappointing loss at Rotherham, we move onto the harder game of Norwich away. Who should be dropped? Anyone? We’ll start with the easy one.

GK – Marco Silvestri – Obvious really, class keeper, we’re lucky to have him.

Byram

RB – Sam Byram – Berardi has done nothing to prove himself in any of the games he’s played, put that together with being sent-off twice already, he should be dropped. Sam Byram isn’t in the best of form but even so he’s better than Berardi, I think.

bellusci on tour

CB – Giuseppe Bellusci – Although not having the best of games against Rotherham, I believe he should be given another go. I think we need his passion, he has to improve though, for sure.

Cooper

CB – Liam Cooper – This may be an unpopular one but I would drop Pearce, I think he’s a bit of a liability. He has improved over the time he’s been here but I think Cooper has potential to be great. He’s better with the ball at his feet and is a solid defender, he also has more pace.

stephen-warnock-vs-bolton_1o0c7zn4h8t9f1tcgxr9tzod1s

LB – Stephen Warnock – Despite not being at his best last Friday, he deserves to start for his good form previously. When Charlie Taylor is fit again, he may have some competition, but at the moment he’s obviously our best left-back.

Cook
CDM- Lewis Cook

Proving himself to be one of best midfield players since his emergence into the first team this season, this boy really has a lot of potential and should be on of the first names on the team sheet every week.

mowatt

CM – Alex Mowatt

After having a mixed season last year during his first season, he has proved to be valuable asset since Neil Redfearn put him back into the first team following his caretaker role and a player who deserves to be playing in the first team.

austin

CM – Rudy Austin

Whilst I believe Rudy puts his best performances in from the bench as an impact player, he’s good for cover and to help Lewis Cook. We will be under pressure on Tuesday night so having both of them to cover the back 4 could prove invaluable.

ADRYAN
CAM – Adryan

Showed glimpses of what he’s got on Friday. To be honest, I think he’s got more to show and possesses more talent than whatever else we have in the number 10 role. It’s about time we threw him in and he can show what he’s got.

Mirco Antenucci

ST – Mirco Antenucci

Proving to be one of better signings since the summer. Mirco may get caught offside more than the average player but he also possesses the talent to break the defensive line and has a composed head. He also works really hard off the ball and this could be invaluable for the side on Tuesday night.

Sharp
ST – Billy Sharp

Personally, I think Billy deserves another go. He’s a better option than the inconsistent Doukara and his work rate will again help us out in what will be a difficult game on Tuesday.

So, what do you make of this side? What changes would you make? Let us know in the comments. MOT.

I agree. Rotherham tied Norwich. I think if we can re-create that dominant of a first half (as we did Saturday), we will be fine. I hope this match is one where we can find our rhythm again.

No Bianchi !!! crazy, if we had more on his level we be much higher up the table imo. silvestri, byram cooper, pearce, warnock, cook, bianchi, mowatt, sloth, adryan, antenucci on his own up front, (adryan given a free role)….and boyaaa we’ll have a win

    Ask Cellino?!!

  • michaelatha says:

Mowatt not for me gets pushed out of the way far too easily and Austin needs to go to specsavers the number of times he passes the ball to the opposition like to look at Montenegro because we need to keep Redmond quiet

  • michaelatha says:

Didnt realize you had omitted Bianchi so Montenegro for Mowatt and Bianchi for Austin

  • good choice cooper for pearce, i would have bianchi instead of mowatt for holding midfield, and maybe see montenegro on wing for austin, need more width and montenegro and adryan will provide it,

How can you possibly leave Tomasso Bianchi out of your selection? Sweeny’s right, crazy … he’s the most consistent midfield player we have. OK, he didn’t have his best game against Rotherham but, in the first half, he controlled the midfield whilst Lewis Cook, Alex Mowatt and Rudy Austin were given the freedom to move forward. The weak link in that midfield was, again, Rudy Austin … far too inconsistent, despite his surging runs where he runs into blind alleys, makes poor decisions and shoots where the ball finishes in Row X,Y or Z, or loses possession. I also disagree about Stephen Warnock … in the two games he didn’t play, the defence looked far more assured and dealt better with the threats posed by Reading and Sheffield.

    Silvestri
    Byram – Bellusci – COOPER – Berardi
    Sloth/Cook – Bianchi
    Montenego – Adryan – Mowatt
    Antenucci

Bench … S.Taylor – del Fabro – Austin – Cook/Sloth – Dawson – Sharp – Ajose. The only player in the match day squad of the old, failed guard, would be Rudy Austin who probably just deserves to be included

Starting formation 4-2-3-1 with a simple change to 4-4-2 if / when required … Montenegro pushed forward alongside Antenucci. Time to “go for it” Darko?

    Bianchi is our best midfielder

Who gives a fuck its italians decision not yours or ours
