With two incomings and one outgoing, who will Redders select at Huddersfield?

|

With Leeds finally hitting a bit of form, for Leeds it’s form anyway, the trip to Huddersfield has come at a good time. Who will Redfearn select for the trip? This is our prediction.

Silvestri

Unless injury forces him out of the game I expect Silvestri to continue in-goal. He’s been reliable most of the time but I get worried every time a cross goes into the box, it’s definitely a weakness of his and hopefully he can improve.

Onto the defence…

RB

wootton

Scott Wootton has been rejuvenated since coming back into the side after a loan spell at Rotherham. Berardi is another option but I feel Wootton is better defensively. He’s worked well with Byram in both defence and attack and hopefully that can continue against Huddersfield.

Onto the two centre halves…

RCB

Sol bamba

New signing Sol Bamba has impressed Neil Redfearn in training, and with Bellusci suspended for that cynical foul against Bournemouth and Jason Pearce departing for Wigan, the new signing will probably make his debut in the Yorkshire derby. Del Fabro is the only other real option but I don’t have much confidence in him. Bamba knows this division after his time at Leicester so why not?

Bamba’s partner is a pretty obvious choice…

LCB

Cooper

Liam Cooper has been great for us this season, good on the ball and a rock at the back. He’s definitely captain material and is probably one of the first names on Neil Redfearn’s team sheet.

Finally for the defence, the left back…

LB

taylor

Our only left footed left back, Charlie Taylor. A promising youngster who can cement his place in United’s line-up and be our left-back for years to come. He has a lot more pace than Warnock which is good to see and seems to be both good in attack and defence.

That’s it for the defence, a pretty predictable choice. Now for the midfield…

Obvious, isn’t it? How good is he? I can’t believe he still hasn’t signed a contract yet, get that sorted please Massimo. Lewis Cook is 17, just to remind you all.

Who plays alongside him?

LUKE MURPHY CELEBRATES SCORING LEEDS WINNER IN INJURY TIME

Despite the signing of Granddi Ngoyi, there’s just no way that Luke Murphy is getting dropped. He has been a revelation of late, and his goal against Bournemouth was top drawer, his goal v Birmingham wasn’t bad either.

Who should play in front of them?

CAM

austin

There’s a few options in this position, such as Adryan or Sloth but I think we have to stick with Rodolph Austin at Huddersfield. He’s finally found some form and his energy is extremely useful away from home especially.

Who should play out-wide?

RM

SAm b

Byram has been a revelation further up the field, he’s started to go past people again and he’s got a really good cross on him. He causes constant problems for the defence.

On the other side?

Somehow I can’t see this happening, but I would play Casper Sloth on the left. I think he did really well when he played there and he’s got just a bit of extra pace that Alex Mowatt lacks, Redders will probably go for Mowatt though.

Finally, who should play up top?

Steve+Morison+Leeds+United+v+Peterborough+MwQLkWPO4oql

Despite me not being a huge fan, Steve Morison has to play against Huddersfield. In our new formation of 4-2-3-1 Morison has to play, we need somebody who can hold the ball up and win it in the air, he’s the only person we have who could possibly do that (Luciano could too, just saying). If he scores a goal soon, then we may see the Steve Morison of Millwall, he needs to stop missing chances though.

I think we’ll win at Huddersfield for some reason, we seem to be improving slowly and this formation fits extremely well. My only concern is Bamba not being full fit.

Anyone think Antenucci could be playing either behind Morison or wide on the left? He’s definitely not a lone striker, but why not get one of our classier players and top scorer into a team that’s shy of goals? If he was playing behind Morison he’d find it twice as hard to get caught offside 🙂
